RELAY & QUAY LOCAL PLANNING DOCUMENT Original fictional demonstration. No message, price, booking or service acceptance. CONNECTED ROAD AND RAIL A connected movement joins modes whose schedules, equipment and handover rules may differ. The Hamburg–Gothenburg exercise is a hypothetical road–rail–road planning chain, not a representation of a bookable train, ferry or carrier product. The purpose of the plan is to expose the transfer points. A short first leg can still determine whether a longer connection is possible. Write down the cargo boundary, equipment assumptions and the action required if the intended connection cannot be used. A combined transit allowance cannot answer those questions for the parties involved. SIX HANDLING STEPS 1. Mark the three boundaries Separate collection, the connecting movement and final delivery. Assign one owner to each handover rather than leaving responsibility between modes. 2. Review equipment compatibility A real provider must confirm the unit, dimensions and terminal handling. The demo does not infer rail acceptance from a road-cargo entry. 3. Set the connection assumptions Record the intended transfer and a contingency question. The displayed range is an illustrative allowance and not a timetable. 4. Check the transfer record Keep count, condition and release information available at the mode change. Missing information should trigger a review before onward dispatch. 5. Plan a missed connection State who reviews the receiving date and informs the next party. Do not present an alternative departure as confirmed when it has not been checked. 6. Confirm final access The last road leg still needs a delivery slot and unloading method. Terminal arrival is not permission to deliver to a site. They exclude collection, release, availability, clearance and final delivery. Buffers are separate illustrative allowances. Conservative boundaries of this fictional calculation only. They are not equipment capacities or proof that any piece fits or is accepted. FCL preview covers one intended dry unit only; multiple units require a separate brief. No data is sent.
