SHARED CONTAINER PLANNING
Shared-container planning combines separately documented consignments into a movement with consolidation and deconsolidation handovers. It suits an enquiry about smaller volumes only when the packing, handling tolerance and receiving requirements fit the proposed service.

The important unit of information is the packed piece. A vague total weight gives the receiving depot little help if a carton is missing or a pallet cannot be handled as expected. This example makes the piece count, external dimensions and condition record travel together. It does not promise a consolidation departure or a fixed charge.

SIX HANDLING STEPS
1. Describe each packed type
Group only identical pieces when entering dimensions. Keep dissimilar packages on separate enquiry lines outside this single-line demo.

2. Identify handling limits
State whether pieces are fragile, unstackable or need an orientation kept. Automated general-cargo timing is withheld for restricted categories.

3. Plan the consolidation receipt
Agree what the origin receiving point checks and how it reports a discrepancy. Collection from a supplier is a separate boundary.

4. Allow for assembly
The worksheet can add an explicit illustrative consolidation allowance. It is a planning buffer, not a statement about a real depot cut-off.

5. Keep documents matched
The package list and consignment identifiers must remain consistent through shared movement. A container identifier alone does not identify the individual cargo.

6. Arrange deconsolidation and delivery
Confirm how cargo becomes available and who can collect it. The sea leg ending does not mean every piece is ready for delivery.
