BY WATER & WOOD

Leave room for
the unexpected.

A morning here can begin with a path through the trees, a second cup of coffee or a long look across the water. Alder Mere gives you a comfortable place to return to, with the woodland close enough to shape the day.

Choose a room in the lodge or a cabin with its own front step. Walk at your own pace, meet around a generous table and ask the team for a route that suits the weather. A good visit leaves a little room in the plan.

A place to come back to

There is a particular pleasure in taking off your boots after a day outside. Our lodge rooms keep things easy, with breakfast close at hand. The cabins offer a kitchen, a sheltered terrace and space to settle into your own routine. Choose the arrangement that fits your party and the way you like to spend a day.

  • Rooms for 1–2 guests

Small discoveries

Life in the woods

Look closely and a familiar path becomes a different place. Join a guided woodland walk, visit the demonstration feeding session or take a quiet seat beside the bird hide. Our family programme favours time to notice things, with accompanying adults sharing the experience.

The Alder Table

A generous table.

Lunch tastes especially good after a morning on the path. The Alder Table serves familiar ingredients with a little curiosity, from a bowl of soup to a leisurely evening menu. Later, pull up a chair in the Lantern Room for a considered drink and a quieter end to the day.
