Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Each course states its requirement. First Whitewater expects comfort in waist-deep moving water; progression courses require a 200 m continuous swim. A wetsuit is not a substitute for swimming ability.
Can I choose the beach?
You can share a preference, but the lead coach chooses the suitable teaching zone after reviewing conditions and access.
What happens when conditions are unsuitable?
The team may relocate, delay, shorten, teach on shore or cancel. The example cancellation policy offers transfer or refund when Tideward cancels.
Are boards and wetsuits included?
Yes, for courses shown here. Fit is confirmed at check-in; bring warm dry layers for afterwards.
Can a nine-year-old join a group lesson?
Family Start is the only published option from age nine, with one swimming adult in the same booking. Standard First Whitewater begins at 12.
Will I stand up?
Maybe, but no outcome is guaranteed. Safe board control, a repeatable setup and understanding the teaching zone matter first.
Is the schedule live?
No. The whole site is fictional static demonstration content and cannot reserve or confirm a place.
