D 24 f2.8 IS gives a full-frame D32 body a wide view without the weight of the 24–72 zoom. The optical stabiliser can help with hand movement for still subjects, while the 280 g weight keeps the lens manageable. On APS-C bodies it becomes a more moderate view, useful for everyday context rather than very broad interiors.

Check the edges of the frame when working close to furniture or people; a wide viewpoint can exaggerate near objects. Use stabilisation for camera shake but keep shutter speed appropriate to subject motion. The lens covers both declared D sensor sizes and should not be confused with the crop-only D-C 24.
